Peanut Butter Pupcakes: a treat for you and your best friend
Posted in : Pets on by : Christine Tags: animals, dogs, pets
I make these as special treats for my dog’s ‘Home Day” celebrations or just whenever they have been extra good. Dog’s love the sweet peanut butter and carrot combination and so will you. All of the ingredients are safe for them and tasty for you. If you like things a little sweeter add a touch more honey.
Ingredients
- 1 c flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 c peanut butter smooth or chunky
- 1/4 c vegetable oil
- 1 c grated carrot
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 c honey
Optional Toppings
Servings: many
Instructions
- Mix flour and baking soda then add the remaining ingredients.
- Pour into greased 8" round cake pan or lined muffin tins. Bake at 350° - 30 minutes for cakes, 25 minutes for cupcakes.
- Let cool.
- Frost with more peanut butter or whipped cream cheese and decorate with grated carrots, blueberries or dog friendly nuts* whatever you and your dog like. *Certain nuts like macadamia and Brazil are poisonous to dogs. Here is a link with more info: https://petcube.com/blog/nuts/
Recipe Notes
These really are good for pets and people so don't be afraid to to give one a try. It's nice to have a treat you can share with your best friend.
I use a natural peanut butter with no added sugar.
Feel free to substitute agave syrup for the honey. It won't taste as sweet to you but the dog doesn't seem to mind.
